My name is Marios Haritos and I have worked for NY Spine over the past ten years. I was first introduced to physical therapy upon receiving treatment here when I was a high school student in Holy Cross High School. I then graduated from New York Institute of Technology, receiving my Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy in 2013. Presently I direct our recently opened Balance and Fall Prevention Center located next door to our Queens facility in Whitestone, NY.
I developed an interest in balance and fall prevention rehabilitation following my participation in a research study performed during my graduate level studies looking at the effect of exercising on Parkinson's disease, specifically cycling. Integrating foundational concepts with recently developed anti-gravity treadmill training, I am able to provide an opportunity to individuals who suffer from a loss of balance to take their next step and defy gravity to improve their gait imbalances.
I also work select hours in our Whitestone location where I apply my passion for manual therapy and exercise-oriented rehabilitation in orthopedics and neuromuscular diagnoses. I have enjoyed my transition over the years as a patient, volunteer, and aid to a Doctor of Physical Therapy while working along side Wayne Hatami and the staff of NY Spine. I am fluent in the Greek language where I am able to extend our services to the Greek population. My goal is to provide a unique experience to my patients where exercise is prescribed to return balance for an overall active and healthy lifestyle.
